To use some SSHOTSS functionalities you may have to search for a spot in the database. This is the case, for example, when you are looking for your photos from the home page, or to activate your location or to upload photos in a spot from your Photographer space.
Spot name structure
The spot names have a well-defined structure in order to facilitate your search.
With :
- Country code = Alpha-2 code of the country where the spot is located.
- Spot name = name under which the spot is known.
- Alternative spot name = (optional) when a spot is known under several names (for example, when there are several spellings possible).
- Subspot name = (optional) when there are several practice areas in the same spot.
- Alternative subspot name = (optional) when a subspot is known under several names (for example, when there are several spellings possible).
- (City, region or state) = (optional) when there are several spots with the same name in the same. country, the city, region or state (for the United States) is added to differentiate them.

- A spot in Turkey with special letters can be written also with classic letters:
